Bar Louie is part of a group of bars, and there are several in Chicago. I prefer the one on Polk because of its location in the South Loop, and the building it’s located in is an old railway station. Because it’s in an older building, it’s architecturally fascinating. They have great cornices and columns and that sort of thing. Now, you don’t go to a bar for the architectural wonders of the world, but they do serve great drinks. Their food menu is well priced and their staff are exceptionally friendly. All of those things add up to a good bar recommendation. They serve late as well.
