Unique Organic Vegan Restaurant
Talk about unique. Blossom is an organic vegan restaurant with locations on the West Side in Chelsea, and on Columbus Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Describing themselves as “refined vegan dining”, their amazing menu ranges from soups to salads, sandwiches to main courses, and there are gluten-free, nut-free and soy-free options, too. A few examples of dishes you’ve never heard of before include pistachio & pepper dusted tofu, curried stuffed sweet potato, wasabi crusted tofu and a portobello panini. Reservations are not required but strongly advised, as this is a very popular, and often crowded restaurant.
Legacy & Super Ambassador
A native of Queens, I currently reside in Minneapolis. I ran the Twin Cities Marathon twice, as well as New York and Dublin. Over the years, I completed many half-marathons, as well as 10K races.
While now a member of the “senior circuit” with my distance running days behind me, I have countless memories of my daily runs in Chicago, continuing in Oakland with beautiful Lake Merritt across the street from my apartment, and on the countless trails around the lakes and in the woods of Minnesota.
My biggest fan, my daughter Sarah, died of cancer in 2013 at the age of 24. My primary charity focus is the annual scholarship fund set up in her memory at Eastview High School in Apple Valley, MN. Scholarship details are available at www.evcg.org.
