LA has and is known for, a plethora of authentic and cheap Mexican food joints. Broken Spanish takes that concept and elevates it to a gourmet level. Located conveniently downtown, this trendy, hip new restaurant uses classic recipes to satisfy the modern tastebuds. Their chicharron is worth every penny as it was one of the most pleasurable morsels I’ve ever put in my mouth. The fresh, thick and warm tortillas served with pork fat make for a gluttonous start while tamals, tacos, and quesadillas filled with local ingredients round out a meal that’s worth the hefty price tag. A fresh cocktail program takes similarly inventive approaches to whichever libation a racer chooses to unwind with. This fine restaurant honors LA’s food history by showing us the city’s culinary future.
I am from Long Beach, CA and currently run around the vast expanses of Los Angeles. I successfully ran the Los Angeles Marathon and Orange County Marathon. I have also finished too many half-marathons to count! Racing is a passion whether in my own backyard or when traveling to the Midwest to visit my in-laws. I love to travel the United States and am passionate about my local community. Welcome to the City of Angels!
