South Indian, Vegetarian and Kosher Restaurant All-in-One
Chennai Garden is an extremely unique vegetarian and kosher South Indian restaurant. Convenient to midtown Manhattan and the east side at 127 E. 28th St., between Park and Lexington Avenues. Where else but New York are you likely to find a South Indian vegetarian and kosher restaurant all-in-one? For those who are familiar with Indian cuisine, Chennai Garden specializes in Rava Dosai, Masala Dosai and Utappam served with udipi-style sambar and coconut chutney. They also are known for their Punjabi curries, which is a real highlight for me.
Legacy & Super Ambassador
A native of Queens, I currently reside in Minneapolis. I ran the Twin Cities Marathon twice, as well as New York and Dublin. Over the years, I completed many half-marathons, as well as 10K races.
While now a member of the “senior circuit” with my distance running days behind me, I have countless memories of my daily runs in Chicago, continuing in Oakland with beautiful Lake Merritt across the street from my apartment, and on the countless trails around the lakes and in the woods of Minnesota.
My biggest fan, my daughter Sarah, died of cancer in 2013 at the age of 24. My primary charity focus is the annual scholarship fund set up in her memory at Eastview High School in Apple Valley, MN. Scholarship details are available at www.evcg.org.
