Where

Where else but New York are you likely to find a South Indian vegetarian and kosher restaurant all-in-one? For those who are familiar with Indian cuisine, Chennai Garden specializes in Rava Dosai, Masala Dosai and Utappam served with udipi-style sambar and coconut chutney. They also are known for their Punjabi curries, which is a real highlight for me. What this means to people less familiar with Indian food is delicious creativity when it comes to the preparation of potatoes, vegetables, basmati rice, coconut milk and chutney, in delectable cream sauces or wrapped thin, crispy crepes. Whole wheat flat bread, soups and salads are also very popular. This unique dining experience has received rave reviews since opening in 2007.

Menu: South Indian, kosher
