If you have time make reservations at the Ybor location and enjoy some of the best spanish food in all of Tampa and a show of amazing dancers in the main room. Well known for their Sangria and even more well known for their food… The 1905 Salad is a must – tossed and prepared tableside its a perfect mix. Main course you have lots of options from tapas to full entrees, but pick a Paella. It will take a bit longer to get to your table but worth the wait and honestly not a bad carbload pre-race. If you don’t have time for a full sit down experience stop by the Tampa History Center located right near Channelside. Get the Cuban Sandwich and sit outside on the channel and watch ships come in and out of port. Tampa is well known for Cuban Sandwiches and the Columbia Cafe makes a great one.
I am newer to running. It began as a way to lose weight (currently down 125lbs) and has become a passion. I’m currently on a #5kEveryDay Streak that is over 500 days long and going. I have also been featured by Runners World Magazine as I was approaching a year of 5ks for my transformation. Their Facebook video of my story has over 1.6million views. As for races… I ran the 16mile Veterans Day bridge crossing from Tampa to Clearwater in 2018. This was my first official race and incredibly I got Bib #001. I will be running the Gaspirilla Half Marathon this year and hope to see you out there. I have dreams of becoming an Ultra Marathoner with the Bryce Canyon 50k in Utah on my bucket list!!
