Great View of Diamond Head
Its my favorite overall choice and a famous stop! Located right in the center of the main drag where you can sit outside on the beachfront with a great view of Diamond Head. The food is good, with buffet options for breakfast or salad bar. Other times it is reasonably priced. The fish tacos are my favorite lunch choice and the marinated tofu with the salad bar is my favorite for dinner. If you’re looking for a post-race reward, the coconut mojito is my favorite!
I’ve ran 13 marathons so far and approximately 15 half marathons. I’m on my way to completing the world marathon majors with New York, Chicago, Tokyo, London and Berlin under my belt! I qualified for Boston 2020 in Chicago 2018 (PR 3:34) and can’t wait to get my six-star medal there.
My maiden marathon was Honolulu 2013 and I’ve ran it 3 more times since then (2014, 2015, 2018- CR 3:50). I always say Hawaii is the home of my running heart and I look for any opportunity in my running calendar to head back there for the marathon or a half marathon! I started running in honor of my father who was a keen marathoner. He loved the Honolulu Marathon in particular. He ran it every year from 1989 until his death in 2009. My first running goal was Honolulu and I have never looked back! Running is now my guide around the world and I am accompanied by a girlfriend or my little family (husband and 2 boys, ages 10 & 6) depending on how seriously I am taking the particular event!
