Perfect End to an Evening Out
Without a doubt, this is my top dessert spot in New York. I’ve been devouring their incredible cannoli and cheesecake for literally decades. Ferrara is now run by the fifth generation of family bakers who still take enormous pride in the quality of their extensive selection of cakes, cookies, and other pastries. Established in 1892 by Antonio Ferrara in the heart of Little Italy, this is still the place to go in New York if you have to choose where to go for dessert in New York. The friendly and energetic atmosphere makes for a perfect end to an evening out, whether you are having Italian food in Little Italy, or Chinese food in Chinatown, which starts just a short stroll away.
Legacy & Super Ambassador
A native of Queens, I currently reside in Minneapolis. I ran the Twin Cities Marathon twice, as well as New York and Dublin. Over the years, I completed many half-marathons, as well as 10K races.
While now a member of the “senior circuit” with my distance running days behind me, I have countless memories of my daily runs in Chicago, continuing in Oakland with beautiful Lake Merritt across the street from my apartment, and on the countless trails around the lakes and in the woods of Minnesota.
My biggest fan, my daughter Sarah, died of cancer in 2013 at the age of 24. My primary charity focus is the annual scholarship fund set up in her memory at Eastview High School in Apple Valley, MN. Scholarship details are available at www.evcg.org.
