The Holiday Inn Mayfair was great! I enjoyed how close we were to everything. The only con was the decor. The room decor was a little outdated but that was fine. It didn’t bother me. The Buckingham Palace was a quick walk down the street. If you’re traveling on a budget, The Holiday Inn is the way to go. Granted ALL hotels will be extremely expensive marathon weekend. The Holiday Inn Mayfair staff was welcoming and very nice.
Number one reason to stay at a Holiday Inn/ IHG hotel in London for the marathon, you will have the option of riding a coach bus to the start line. This was my first time running a marathon outside my city, so I didn’t want to stress about getting to the start line. I am very grateful for the Holiday Inn Mayfair staff. They made race day less stressful!
I'm a 5-time marathoner trying to chase that sub-4-hour marathon dream one race at a time! When I'm not running, I like talking about it. My lifetime goal is to complete all 6 World Marathon Majors. My personal best time: 4:05:35.
