Moderately Priced, Family-friendly Hotel
The Holiday Inn Times Square is an affordable, family friendly hotel that is located right in the heart of midtown. This hotel allow all kids 18 and under in free as long as they are with one adult. With its proximity to Times Square, there are so many sites and places to visit. Whether you want to shop, see a show or go out to eat, there are many places within walking distance to choose from. Also, up to 4 children in a group/family under the age of 11 can eat for free at the hotel’s restaurant. For runners who would like to keep up with their training, there is a fitness center in the hotel that is open every night until midnight. Included are ellipticals, free weights, treadmills and stationary bikes.
I’ve been running competitively since high school where I was on the track team at Xaverian High School in Brooklyn. My fondest memories are of cross country races in Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx, as well as indoor races at The Armory in Manhattan. Several years ago I decided to improve my health so I “started over”, by first running 5K races as well as more extreme challenges like the Spartan Race. After these early challenges I felt mentally and physically ready to tackle my ultimate goal of running in the NYC Marathon. I have yet to snag a spot by lottery, but I’m hoping that 2019 is my year. In the interim I’ve completed the Brooklyn Half Marathon, strengthening the personal bond I feel with my home borough. Two charitable foundations that are very important to me are the American Cancer Society, as well as Connor’s Cure. Whether it’s a young child or the elderly, no one should have to be in the battle to survive alone, and by hopefully raising funds for these charities, the money could go a long way in not only finding treatment for those who face the uphill battle, but to also one day find a cure.
