Where

Directly across the street from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, I recommend Hotel Pennsylvania for its comparative affordability right in the heart of NYC. The location is perfect for runners arriving by train via Amtrak, as well as for those coming in by bus to the Port Authority Bus Terminal just a couple blocks away.

This 100-year-old hotel is the fourth largest in the city with 1,704 modern and comfortable rooms. Attractive for singles, couples and families, room options range from one king to one double, two doubles and even three twins. A massive renovation is ongoing and slated to be completed in April 2019. New rooms have been dubbed The Penn Plaza Collection.

For Trivia Fans: The hotel’s original phone number, Pennsylvania 6-5000, was the focal point of a 1940 song made famous by Glenn Miller and the Andrews Sisters.
